2015 Public Policy Courses


After the huge success of our Fall 2014 Electoral Activism & Leadership Academy and our incredible Voting, Work and Civil Rights Symposium last month, we have no plans to slow down! Join us starting next week as we cover new and relevant public policy issues that effect our communities, our city and our state.
 
Who: YOU and other concerned citizens, and renowned public policy experts
What: A series of free public policy courses
Where: Silberman School of Social Work, first floor auditorium
When: January 17, 24, 31 and a February date TBA
, all sessions start at 10 am and end at 12:30 pm

January 17-Economic Development with Dr. Hector Cordero-Guzmán
Dr. Cordero-Guzman will be joining us with up-to-date information on this subject, and how it effects our lives and neighborhoods. Click here for his bio.

January 24-Urban Environmentalism with Eddie Bautista
Challenges and answers for poor and working class neighborhoods. What does it take to practice sustainable and green methods in New York City? Click here for his bio.

January 31-Housing with Dr. Carlos Vargas
This is a hugely popular session, and Dr. Vargas will provide us with crucial updates to his class last year on this same subject. Click here for his bio.

February-Women's Public Policy Issues, speakers and date TBA
All heath, economic, housing and political issues are women's issues, but we're planning something special for this session-a class devoted solely to the most relevant and critical issues facing women in today's political landscape.
