Freedom Ride to Ferguson
NEW YORK- Following the killing of unarmed young black teen, Mike Brown at the hands of Officer Darren Wilson, days of protesting have unfolded in Ferguson, MO, and through out the nation. The Hip Hop duo, Rebel Diaz, DJ Charlie Hustle and members of The RDACBX drove 17 hours from New York to Ferguson on Thursday, August 14 th, 2014 to express solidarity with the Brown family and the Ferguson community. As a result of their visit, Rebel Diaz decided to shift the focus of their previously scheduled concert at the legendary BB King’s Blues Club, and instead will host The Freedom Ride: NYC to Ferguson fundraising concert at BB King’s Blues Club, located at 237 West 42 St, New York, NY 10036. The proceeds from this concert will serve to mobilize youth and young adults from New York City to Ferguson, MO in support of the local organizing taking place in demand of justice for Mike Brown. The doors will open at 7:00pm, and the show starts at 9:00pm.
The line -up of performances include: Rebel Diaz with the band, Dirty Delorean, The ReMINDers, YC The Cynic, DJ Charlie Hustle and surprise guests. Hosted by Flaco Navaja.
