Just wanted to say that I really enjoyed that meeting last night. I
came to work this morning refreshed and reinvigorated about being a
front end developer and UI designer. Ryan's recap of the Velocity
conference, Erik's discussions about Voicebeep and the newspaper he
started, Kris' tour of http://www.codi.sh ... seriously, my mind is
still totally blown right now. What a great time.

I agree. It was great. Ryan's talk was amazing, Kris' project very
interesting, and the whole virtual presence of Erik was really fun.
See you guys soon.

kudos++ from SJ and I.

SaraJean even has vaguely fond memories of the intervening bits
between inside programming/geek jokes! I doubt she'll ever think of
Mango Lassi the same way again ;).

Thanks for all the Voicebeepy feedback too; it was quite useful to Erik and I.

cheers,
jason

Did I hear mango lassi? Now I regret being late.

Technically "Tropical Lassi", and…yes, it was delicious.

Haha, yes, let the lack of lassi be a lesson to all you latecomers!

Seriously though, that was a kickass meetup - great presos, you guys! I'm still thinking about all the web optimization stuff we talked about.

Yes, it definitely was awesome! It's very inspiring to be around you guys. And yummy too.

I'll be working on a write-up of velocity. I'll let you guys know when I post it.

Somebody say 'latecomers'?! That's my entrance...I prefer 'LA
fabulously late' :P

I'm in the mind still blown camp...and I want more. I look forward to
Ryan's blog posts where he simply copies his velocity conf notes into
his blogging software and hits and publish (pls?!!)

Seriously, I think we need some sort of simple tumblelogging dealy on
django.la where we can post links and pull in relavent blog posts from
around the web (our blogs, and things we wanna share). Everything has
an RSS feed...maybe we can just have something where we type in a feed
URL and then we can select which entry we want and publish that to the
tumblelog? At the least could we share a delicious account or
something like that? Ideas?

THANKS to everyone for the food, drink, and treat contributions and
thanks especially to our gracious hosts, Kris and Ryan!

Really looking forward to the velocity conf write-up!

Bryan's is a great idea. We could create a tumblr account and everybody gets the bookmarklet to post things to share. And hook it up to our django.la domain, since we really should use that thing.

I'd also like someplace where we can pull photos from Flickr or wherever, so we can have albums of each event with everyone's photos =)))

Why not using the list itself? It already has a feed:
http://groups.google.com/group/djangola/feeds

If you want something more organized maybe what we need is a wiki.
