Current state of S3 support?

Hello:

I recently filed an issue about a problem with S3 and learned that S3 isn't really supported.

I need a filebrowser and I'd like to use S3, and if I can help get it working more, I'm willing to try to advance the cause.

Posting here to see if anyone else is currently actively using S3 with django-filebrowser, and if so, if you have (even hacky) code to share, or if anyone has a slightly more concise listing of issues to be resolved.

Hi, I am investigating this as a solution.  Currently exploring using django storages redux.  My repository is private so i'll have to create a gist w/ my settings and a summary of the code needed to get this all working.  Its a headache to say the least.
