Subject: Re: proposing accessibility statement in trademark license
To:
dsf-m...@googlegroups.comHi all,
It's been a few months, but still thanks for all the feedback on my proposal. I do agree now that this would be too forceful to include in the trademark agreement. However, I have not forgotten entirely about this idea.
Russel proposed making a formal event organisers guide, and I've heard something like that mentioned in other discussions too.
I just published what I call The Less Obvious Conference Checklist: a list of practical things conferences can do to simply make their conference better, but might easily forget because they're not as obvious as "don't forget to sell tickets". Accessibility for people with impairments is one part, but there are many other areas too. I based this on my experience attending various conferences and co-organising Django Under the Hood last week.
You can find the list on
https://github.com/erikr/lessobviouschecklist and it's open to pull requests :)
I am not proposing this as a formal organisers guide for the DSF to adopt, as it's probably too raw and incomplete for that, but perhaps it can form a start or an inspiration.
