Just a quick reminder that Google Summer of Code student applications
are due Monday! If you're a student and want to get paid to work on
Django this summer, you should submit an application ASAP.
We've only gotten a couple of good applications, so if you've got
something interesting to work on, you've still got a *great* chance of
getting accepted.
You can read some ideas at
http://code.djangoproject.com/wiki/SummerOfCode2007#Ideas. Ideas not
listed there are *very* welcome -- our best ideas last year weren't on
the ideas list -- so let your imagination roam wild.
If you want to know more, read Google's FAQ
(http://code.google.com/support/bin/topic.py?topic=10442), and/or the
advice for students on the SoC wiki
(http://code.google.com/p/google-summer-of-code/wiki/AdviceforStudents).
Good luck, and I hope we see a bunch of good applications over the weekend!
Jacob
[PS: if you're an established contributor -- i.e. if I should
recognize your name from the ticket tracker or from django-dev -- and
you'd like to mentor a student, drop me an email and I'll see about
adding you as a late entry.]
