Hi there!

Is there going to be an advent article series for a 1.3 release?

Not sure. I really enjoyed the 1.2 series of articles, but I'm not
sure if they could even do something as big for the 1.3 release. This
release is mostly bug fixes, with a few big changes (static files,
class-based generic views, and logging). With the 1.3 release due by
the end of February, if the Django Advent guys (Rob Hudson and Idan
Gazit hosted the first) haven't started yet, I think I would prefer
them to focus their efforts on another big series targeted for the 1.4
release.

OK. Thanks.

I agree that the number of new features isn't as big as in the 1.2
release and maybe there is no sense for another series before this
one. Although I would love to see an expert article about class based
views. I'm Little bit confused about it right now.

Cheers

Hey folks,

Though the hour's getting late
with tempers growing quite irate
your patience growing thin and weary
as you issue forth a query:
where is Django Advent?

Though we struggle, work and try
sometimes authors don't comply
they plead their overscheduled life
their kids, their gardens, and their wife,
all taking time out from their week
preventing them from writing streaks.
"And by the way," they like to mention
"We also code" they say with tension
"These bugs will not just fix themselves,
Unless we work like little elves,
committing day and night."

So much as we would like to gripe
or fault those authors, they are right
Our day's a game of zero sum
They are not lazy and not dumb
They simply like to sleep, or eat
or sometimes even scratch their feet
or maybe even leave the house
accompanied by loving spouse
or write a patch, or play some catch,
or wrestle crocodiles.

But good news is in great supply,
We promise things are not awry
The Advent will be launching soon;
do not succumb to fretful gloom
and if you want to beat the blues
and be the first to hear the news
just follow us, hear how it went
twitter dot com slash djangoadvent.
