Hi Andy,
I think you need to add more details like what the simple site is and then where the client is located. That way, more local doesn't sound cryptic

'more local' means 'living or working in the Windsor or West London area'. 

Maybe it's just idiomatic UK English but it reads fairly clearly to me.

The client is in Windsor. The site is a basic content-driven site with a simple bespoke Django CMS behind it.
