Appending trailing slashes to jQuery Ajax requests automatically

I have published a small snippet at https://github.com/ustun/ensure-trailing-slash-for-jquery-ajax/blob/master/ensure_slash.js 

that automatically adds a trailing slash to every outgoing AJAX request so as to minimize accidental redirects.
