Looking for a good Document Management System (DMS) to plug into my Django app

Hi folks,

I have been looking around all over to find a high quality DMS to plug into my Django application. I'd like to be able to upload and download .docx or .pdf files, edit the metadata, and also be able to serve the content of the files on the front end. If the plugin allows for preview, that would be great as well.

I have come across Mayan, and although it has all the features I need, its a separate app in itself and there is no API for me to connect my app to data sitting on Mayan. Any other insight or points in the right direction would be tremendously helpful.

You should check out integrating with the Box.net API. I've written a
number
of applications for their site. They support previews of most common
file types.
