When I try to do a ./manage.py cleanup it seems to be working for a while (a few seconds) and suddenly it stops and I receive a message on bash simply saying 'killed'. Then I tried to enter the mysql shell to see if anything had been done and at the point when I type mysql> select * from django_session; I get back to the bash shell and receive the same 'killed'.

On the kernel log I see this:
kernel: Out of memory: Kill process 6663 (mysql) score 569 or sacrifice child
kernel: Killed process 6663 (mysql) total-vm:446784kB, anon-rss:438388kB, file-rss:0kB

Any idea what is happening here?
Thanks!

You've run out of memory, so the kernel kills the appropriate process.
Add more memory.

Cheers

Yes I've run out of memory, but there is approx 400MB of free memory, isn't it enough to get that task done? I have no idea how much memory it takes but it surprises me, any other query to the DB works perfectly.

Cheers.
