How to use proxy while making requests to authroization endpoints

Hi, I was trying to run django and i'm using python social auth to sign in with Google in a VPN, I'm using a Linux machine where we don't have direct access to external websites we should use proxy to make requests to any websites like google.com.

So, while trying to sing in with google-oauth2, the authorization url is unable to redirect to Google sign in page due to restrictions on my server. The request was just hung and timeout. 
Can someone let me know is there a way to send the proxy?
