Hiring for a Russian programmer on a very interesting project

Hello, 

I'm part of a group of entrepreneurs from the US, the UK, and Denmark. We do startups of different types and we work together to develop business when we see opportunities in the market. It is a talented and friendly group, and we have a horizontal and collaborative dynamic where everyone plays a role in making decisions and working on complex and interesting problems. Currently, we are looking for a programmer from Russia who has deep knowledge and experience with Django / Python for a major new project. We want to offer this person a salary that would be competitive with the best Russian programmers, and we also want to offer them a key role in what should be a very exciting and challenging project.

A few questions then: 

1.) How much would a competitive salary be for a Russia programmer with good experience in Django / Python?

2.) What are the best forums or websites to find programmers Django / Python in Russia?

$30/h is ok here, $60/h is good, >$100/h is excellent.

I think normally it’s from $2000 to $3000 per month for an experienced developer, in Russia, Ukraine and Belarus. Of course, it’s only applicable to English-speaking developers. Those who only speak Russian usually earn nearly 100 thousand RUB in Moscow (and less in smaller cities).

 

2.) What are the best forums or websites to find programmers Django / Python in Russia?

I’d say it is careers.stackoverflow.com, freelansim.ru, moikrug.ru and the linux.org.ru forum. In general, you can find many highly qualified experts at these resources.

Regarding your second question - some Moscow python / django programmers are gathering in this slack chat https://python.stamplayapp.com/ . There are dedicated #jobs and #django channels where you can try to find your ideal candidates.
