Name for date fields

I'd like to get a consensus on the naming convention for date fields.
Which naming style do you all prefer,

1. Short prefix: pub_date, update_date, creation_date, modify_date
2. Full prefix; publish_date, update_date, creation_date, modify_date
3. Full suffix: date_published, date_updated, date_created,
date_modified

To vote just say +1, then the name of the style. For instance, here's
my vote:

+1 Full suffix.

Glenn and Newman both gave me a +1 towards short prefix. I guess I'm
out voted, short prefix it is.
