Hi! Which version of oscar/django/python to use for new Oscar project?

Hi,

New to Django and Oscar as I leave Drupal behind... I'm looking to create a basic store using Oscar with high hopes of launching on heroku in 3 weeks. Pip currently installs Oscar 0.7.3 and Django 1.6.8. I'm running Python 2.7.6 all on ubuntu.

Should I use Oscar 0.8 instead?

Is there a "better" choice for which versions to use in a new project? Looking for stability and ease of development for a new Oscar user.

​Yes, use the version from the releases/0.8 branch on Github. The final version of 0.8 should be out this week.​

Let me know if you have any questions. I just switched from PHP to Python/Django/Oscar.

If you aren't already familiar with Django, I found it EXTREMEMLY helpful to do the Django tutorial here: https://docs.djangoproject.com/en/1.6/intro/tutorial01/

You'll find it easier to modify Oscar views/models once you get the Django basics down.
