Hi!

This looks really cool, thanks for releasing django-lean. I'm
interested in using this app. What do you think about creating a
tarball release of it on pypi.python.org, so that it can easily be
packaged for Ubuntu? This would probably involve writing a small
setup.py file, then using setup.py bdist to build a tarball to be
uploaded to pypi.

Thanks for your interest!

I would love to see django-lean made compatible with easy-install /
packaging mechanisms like pypi.

Unfortunately, we don't use these systems to manage our own site, so
it is non-trivial for us to develop and test this to ensure that it
will work in a variety of scenarios.

That being said, if someone were willing to write the necessary
setup.py file we would be happy to use it to register an 'official'
distribution on pypi.

Otherwise, I'm sure we will get to it some time when we've got an hour
or two to spare.

I created an issue to track this in the meantime:

http://bitbucket.org/akoha/django-lean/issue/9/publish-django-lean-on-pypi

Cheers,

Erik

Cool! I just did this in a branch on bitbucket, and sent a pull request.

Yay, our first patch!

I'll check it out ASAP and merge it soon.

I integrated the patch and published the TGZ on PyPi.

Just do an easy_install django-lean and you should be good to go.

In the process I added a little utility in experiments/tests/
run_tests.py to run the full unit test suite outside of a Django
project.

Cheers, and thanks,

Erik
