New issue 54 by burhan.khalid: Oracle backend 'createsuperuser' fails on
password step
http://code.google.com/p/django-jython/issues/detail?id=54

Using jython version 2.5.2.rc2
Using django-jython 1.1.2
Using django 1.2.3
Using Oracle 10.2.0.2.0 and Oracle XE
Using ojdbc14.jar
Using JDK 1.6.0_23

Run any of the following:

jython manage.py syncdb (on a new project) or jython manage.py
createsuperuser

At the step where the system prompts for a password for the new superuser,
the prompt stalls (it doesn't ask to enter the password again). No record
is added to the db. You have to kill the process to get the prompt back.

Note, syncdb works correctly as tables are created; but for whatever reason
a user cannot be added thus leaving the admin section unusable.

Tested on Windows Server 2003, Windows XP Pro 32bit.

Comment #1 on issue 54 by juneau001: Oracle backend 'createsuperuser' fails

Have you tried to use Django version 1.2.1 or a previous release of
Django? I have had success using Oracle database 10.2, jython 2.5.2rc2,
and django 1.2.1

Is it possible this is related to issue 50?

Comment #3 on issue 54 by juneau001: Oracle backend 'createsuperuser' fails

Can you please verify if this is still an issue using the following
configuration?

jython version 2.5.2
Using django-jython 1.2.0b1
Using django 1.2.5

Using Oracle 10.2.0.2.0 and Oracle XE
Using ojdbc14.jar

Using JDK -> 1.6.0_x (any of the 1.6 releases should work)
