I'll need help on this.. there is a lot of old code that breaks which was written by different people.
Maybe supporting 3 versions of django (as per Deprecation Policy) is becoming way too hard to mantain.
Peraphs we could maintain support only for the last two versions.
Any thoughts?

I can try to help you get django-hstore ready for 1.8 (it's about time ;) I'll have a look at what's breaking and compile a list of issues that we need to address.
