Hi there,
With the promise of forwards compatibility [1] that's coming with the
release of 1.0, I was wondering if there was going to be a special
mechanism to ensure no incompatibilities are mistakenly introduced in
the life of 1.x.
For example, how about forking a branch of tests (in the state as they
were when 1.0 was officially released)? Those tests would then be
updated only to be strengthened, keeping tests for new features in a
different location. Just an idea, I'm not sure if it's a good or bad
one.
Has this been discussed at DjangoCon and do the core devs plan to
implement a special automatic mechanism for it?
Thanks for you advice,
Julien
