I'm in San Francisco these days, which I hear is an OK place to try
to host a sprint. Given the holidays coming up shortly, I was
planning for just after that, probably January 7 - 8. I don't see
major conferences scheduled around that - are there any specific
objections to those dates?
Have we thought about timeline on feature freeze, etc?
If anyone in the SF area would like to host the sprint, that would
be most welcome - I'm just getting started with the plan. I'm
coordinating w/ David Cramer who orgs the SF meetup.
I assume meeting in the city proper would be better for attendance,
but we could also probably go to Hacker Dojo in Mountain View. Do
people feel strongly about this?
Cheers,
Jeremy

Soon. I hope we feature freeze before then, and could spend a sprint
triaging and killing release blockers.

If we don't find a specific corporate host, we could probably do it at
Noisebridge, which has space appropriate for that. It's often hard to
predict what else is going on there though, so it could be noisy or
busy.

Bitbucket/Atlassian would love to host a sprint. We're about to move
from the Mission to our own office building in SoMa in a couple of
weeks. We'll have plenty of space for anyone who wants to attend.
I believe Paul McMillan plans to attend. I am honestly not sure what
other core are in the SF area or if one would like to visit. Julien
Phalip will be arriving here in early January - he's said he might be
able to attend Jan 7-8 but would definitely attend Jan 14-15. Since
we're still in the preliminary planning, I'm inclined to change it.
Votizen (my new employer) plans to pick up the tab for food & drink.
With Bitbucket's offer to provide hosting space, I think we're
starting to be in good shape.
Brodie, does it make any difference to move from Jan 7-8 to Jan 14-15
so that Julien can attend?
Thanks for the offer, Brodie. I'll write offlist for some details
about the space/timing.
Nope, either date should be fine.
I'm back to looking for space for the sprint - Bitbucket has only
recently moved into their new space and are still settling in. Thanks
to them for the initial offer.
In light of that, I'd like to push the dates to Jan 21-22 -
hopefully the last push back.
If you have a location in the city, available Jan 21-22, able to
host 20-50 developers in support of Django's 1.4 release, please let
me know. All that is needed is chairs, desks, and decent internet
connection for the guests.
Thanks, and Happy New Year. :-)
