Hello,

i'm curious: Has anyone ever (successfully) run django-cms on MSSQL?
Would it be possible at all?

I know it sounds weird, but i would not ask if it weren't for a customer. :)

Any opinions appreciated.

Regards
Manuel

We've been asked in the past to get a django based project in winblows but ad Opensource company we made everything possible to convince him otherwise (it was MySQL even)

Throwing many facts and case studies in a presentation could convince him not to do so :-)

Theoretically everything is possible but why the hassle?

Excuse me if I jumped into the thread but can't hold it when it comes to FOSS Vs. Others

Hi Bashar,

there's no need for using derogatory language like "winblows". Most of us have left kindergarten a long time ago and are not keen to discuss on that level.

As for running django CMS on MS-SQL, I'm not aware of anybody having tried it before. The CMS uses (for the most part) the Django ORM, with two exceptions: South for schema migration, and django-mptt for the page tree and plugin trees. If there are problems, I'd suspect them to be in those areas.

Kind regards,
Benjamin
