I was wondering when you will put the source on Google Code, and also
if you have the right to use image from the game Gruntz since it's
under Monolith Copyright http://www.lith.com/Games/Gruntz

To be honest, i'm interested into developing a Gruntz Clone too, I
have no knowledge in Java but would start in Javascript instead, to be
able to run the game in browser, and mobile browser too.

I'm planning on putting the code up in the next few days.
I have not contacted Monolith for copyright permission, on
the basis that they have not replied to any emails from GooRoo
on the GooRoo gruntz forum that have asked whether Gruntz
is abandom ware (i.e. Monolith doesn't mind anyone using it)

If it was ever a problem, Monolith would get in contact and
we'd just have to change the project to somehting else.

I'd strongly recommend sticking with Java, not only because
it's faster and its much easier to create hierarchies useful
in game programming, but DizGruntled has got a lot of code I've
written and it would be quicker to work and modify that than start
from scratch.

I'm a great fan of Javascript myself, and I recognize how essential
browser applications are to the future of the Web. I chose Java over
Javascript because of the awesome amount of support for
OpenGL and OpenAL, hardware acceleration and the like which is
only just coming to webkit browsers with CSS3 transforms. If none
of that means anything to you, I suggest looking at GTK, part of
which aims at cross-compiling Java through to Javascript, which
would be a good starting point if you decided not to take my
advice - then you work with dizGruntled code in javascript.

Hope this makes sense!
Cheers,
Hugh

Yay! Thanks, I'll get back to this "group" when I've got the code and some forums or similar up and running
