Hiya all. Im getting my hands full and wondering if there is anyone out there would be interested in any of it.
The first one is easy. Some Norwigans need a boat delivered from the Dominican Republic to Norway on a 32' steel sloop. They have found a new skipper but still need crew. Originally they were going to pay my expenses but that would have to be worked out with them. The time frame for this is a.s.a.p. to whenever (before hurricane season) .
Second is another sailboat crew position on a very nice Irwin. The owner is a very nice New Yorker who has been in the sailing industry for several decades. This trip is slowly going up the East Coast over 3 months. Paid expenses loads of knowledge available. The minimum commitment should be about two weeks.
Im currently working on S.V. Rocksteady "punk boat cooperative"
here is some copy/past background:
Sailing Vessel Rocksteady is a dedicated boat meant to be always ready for projects and crew carrying out missions of art, exploration, humanitarian relief, environmental aid, maritime tradition/education and or wild loose parties.
The purpose of a dedicated ship is simply to relive young projects of both the financial and educational burden of acquiring a ship for temporary use, allowing those resources to be directed to where they are needed most.
After years of myself and friends using our own boats for such projects Rocksteady was donated by Frenchman Rudolf Baumgartner to use a platform for these collective interests.
Currently I am getting her ready for an art project in Key West in june. While working on the boat we are renting beds (under the table hostel style) for parts and beer money, with a speakeasy in the works. thats working out pretty good, if not becoming pecunious at least offering free living. Also at the culmination of this project Rocksteady will be free to be used on another project.
Also feel free to shoot any ideas for future projects on Rocksteady.
note that many projects that need support already exist and rounding up a bunch of folks and picking one out of a hat is also an option
