hey everyone
so i posted a lil bit ago about a tour myself and some friends were doing. well, we did it and it was a great! for it we made a compilation that a few different folks submitting something to, and i wanted to share that. here's the description:

This compilation focuses on examining the nuances of life at sea for folks who have spent some time on the water. A “by sailors for sailors,” it features a discussion on crew dynamics, a retrospective of operating a boat collectively, an interview, and two other articles. Through this compilation we’re hoping to generate subculture and discussions around radicals taking to the sea and figuring out what that can look like. Often our ideals and politics get eaten up in the logistics of staying afloat, we’re hoping to focus on them.

in addition we have two new zines, the ones we read from on our tour, on our lil website.

we'll probably do another tour in the upcoming future, on the east coast. if anyone is exciting about hosting an event contact me!

also, does anyone read this group anymore? i don't want to be the lone wingnut still posting...

Thank you so much for you work and efforts to put together this zine. Being new to the sailing world, the info you have compiled has been really helpful, and fun to read! Keep it coming!

I do!! I read it!! Well, not always, but I will now. I'll try to write more too, now that we are back at the boat after the long season off. Thanks so much keeping it going! You're not the only wingnut Steve

Hello there Steve? Now I wonder, looking at the time from your last post, do you read it?
Just finished reading "Misadventures" and "Escape" Got these well worn copies from a coworker here in Asheville, NC. This coworker (Brian) and I are taking ASA lessons this weekend and I am very much looking forward to a long relationship with sailboats. I really enjoyed your perspective on sailing, reading about your offshore misadventures. Some of the scenes sound positively horrible the zines did much to wipe some gloss from whatever romantic, (easy) ideas i had about sailing into the sunset off the east coast. For now, I'll stick to fresh water. Thanks for shooting the straight story, wish I could have gotten to see a picture of the ol' Dorothy Ann.
