a. Operation
i. $1 rent/sale – will be reconstructing space and will not
have a physical space for a year due to construction.
1. Separate collectives for each art (poets, music,
etc)
2. These collectives have found new spaces to do their
shows/etc for the year
ii. Sub collectives send reps to space wide meetings
1. Sub collectives each have their own rules
iii. Insurance
1. Low premium high deducible
2. Possibly being a private club (low insurance rates)
iv. Licensing – as a 501c they do not need a PPA in NY
b. Chris is in touch with an umbrella 501c group.
i. We might try and get into this
c. Legal – we need a lawyer to help us somewhere within our
membership
4. Wayward Council - Jamie
a. Not-for-profit all-ages venue bookstore coffee internet
b. 10 years old
c. Struggled for the past couple years financially.
d. Membership- strict-ish memberships. 2 shifts 2 shows 2
meetings and approved by the council. They’ve had volunteers steal
from the
collective. Hear out all members feelings on the person. 20
members have keys, but people change.
i. No dues- rent is made by benefit show
e. Operation- just rent as a business, pay taxes
i. Cops- Know our rights.
ii. Financials – majority of money from shows. $3-5 for shows
at the door 60/40%
1. Volunteer board – passed around at weekly meetings
and refreshed every week people can sign up to work shifts.
2. Record store setup: No Idea! records is the
distributer for them they sort of discuss record orders. Sometimes the
get IOU orders
from No idea when they don’t have the money to buy
records.
3. Bank account – business account under Jamie’s name,
no safe because of theft.

i. Our goal is to create and maintain a safe and welcoming
space for the community. Through various arts including, but not
limited to,
music, visual arts, spoken word, and literature we aim to
reach out into the community and facilitate positive expression. We
believe in
welcoming all types of people, rich, poor, young, and old
in a respectful environment. We are a collectively run not for profit
organization who believe strongly in the DIY ethos.
6. Fundraising
a. Shows- we can collectively book shows where the money goes
toward other fundraising events
i. A collectively booked show will get us going as a group
and get us organized.
ii. Delegate contact people different roles. Band database,
calendar, booking, advertising, etc
iii. 11/18/10 possible show
iv. Toys For Tots benefit show
b. Kickstarter- emails with mission statement and goal.
i. Save for later use maybe setting a $1000 goal for
Kickstarter
c. Short period of doing shows raising money for our base capital
d. Art Auction!
i. Keep track of donations in case of failure.
7. Membership
a. Short Term- Loose association of people booking shows
b. Long term to be determined to as we continue.
