Idea:
A Live Library to keep many different types of yeasts and bacteria used in wine, bier and breads - alive. So when someone wants to make a tasty treat, or beverage they merely need to take a small sample to culture and use.

One may ask, what about this store per-dried yeast stuff?
Well quoting Matthew Zeits on this:
The freeze dried yeast may get the job done, but at this point the yeast were breed for survival not taste. It's a compromise.

I don't like that compromise.

We now have a bio-refrigerator at the Hive. Not sure how long we'll have access to it. Evidently we had to ask John Neil first, not Ryan or Dan. I quote Neil on this, as long as we're able to find use for it, AND store solder paste in within the next 2 weeks, we an keep it. How are we on getting the yeast? What are some places we could contact?

Working on it.  I still have to get the alcohol lamp up and running although I could probably use the stove to do culturing.  I just don't enjoy the image of trying to keep things sterile using a stove flame versus a purpose build flame source.
