The Second International Synthetic Biology Slam
What is Your Vision for the Future of Synthetic Biology?
Have a big idea? Throw it down at the third Synthetic Biology Slam:
an evening of fast-paced creative talks, plentiful discussion and
real-time building of a roadmap for the future of synthetic biology.
Meet
other innovative thinkers, get feedback, and find new ideas and partners
for good work that lies ahead.
The Slam will be held on
July 8th (the evening before
SB6.0)
at Imperial College London. We will provide beverages, snacks and a
stage — you will bring your best ideas on what the future holds for
Synthetic Biology!
Each person will have 3 minutes to
present their vision for how the field should evolve. Participants can
focus on anything from applications, tools, concepts, practices – it’s
up to you! We welcome everything
from ideas-in-the-making to more developed hypotheses and work. Everyone
in the community is encouraged to participate regardless of background
or career stage - all we ask is a willingness to share your ideas and
enthusiasm.
Highlights from the inaugural synthetic biology slam, held at
SB5.0,
included over 25 presentations including a poetic take on the future of
beer brewing, a vision for low-cost automation tools, a proposal for
advancing public engagement, and thoughts on the policy landscape
shaping the field. To see these and more, visit us
online.
Don’t miss this opportunity
to participate in a fun and lively evening getting to know the next
generation of thinkers moving the field forward! Spots are limited so
