(A little more chemistry than biology...)
I have been trying to get an old HPLC unit working for ion and protein chromatography, but still need to find a suitable detector for ions. I was thinking a Electrical conductivity detector or maybe an electrochemical detector.
From a DIY standpoint it seams fairly simple, pass a AC current through the sample and pick up the impedanc. But it would need a way to be calibrated and have enough accuracy to detect small amounts of ions.

If anyone has any ideas or links please let me know and share here.

Thanks,
Conner
