cholesterol home testing

Hi all...

what you guys think for the cholesterol testing meters..?

are they freely available like glucometers in US..? how frequent is the test done..?

From a quick search, the commonly available testing method involves a
consumable test strip or reagent. It does not appear to be some
reusable electronic meter by itself.
