Just curious as to the smallest concentration of DNA that can be seen in a gel?

Unlabelled with a UV spectrometer or camera, fluorescence with spectrometer or camera or eye, dye with spectrometer camera or dye?

With a camera you can see single molecules fluorescing in nanochannel capillaries, the smaller the channel the easier to see less DNA as it is more concentrated and you can focus your camera field of view better

With ethidium bromide staining, I believe you can see about 10 ng of DNA.

According to biotum, gelgreen/red is more sensitive than sybr safe.

And with long enough exposure, radiolabelled DNA is probably awesome.
Probably.

In terms of practical / easy / standard DNA visualization tools, SYBR Gold staining a polyacrylamide gel is the most sensitive combo I've personally used.
