I'm a big user of forums. The info there is really useful, whether its
sciences (methods, troubleshooting, etc), hobbies (taking apart
things, gardening, etc), reviews (technology, etc), culture, and so
on. Usually, I just use Google's Discussion search feature but a while
ago, they took down that option in searches. I made do with adding
"&tbm=dsc" to the url and that worked pretty well. Now, I think they
got rid of that also, or maybe selectively removed it for some users.

So, now I found a site called http://boardreader.com/ that does
something similar. But it doesn't really work as well. I used to get
good results back if I search technical stuff in Google's
"Discussions' option but this one doesn't find stuff from sites like
biotechniques or anything else.

You guys have any ideas? Such a great loss of information.

Note: Sure, I can use 'site:' but I don't keep a list of all the
forums out there.

Thanks

So that just limits me to google groups. Like I said in my note in the
first message, there are tons of forums out there. "site" option
limits to one website. Is there anything to replace Google's
discussion search option (I'm not talking about google groups search,
but the Google Search parameter to search all discussions, e.g.
forums, mailing lists, usenet, etc)
