Counter Culture sent us backers a note:

Now that we've met our initial goal, we'd like to focus on some stretch goals. The first is a -80C freezer for $5,000. These let
us store cultures long-term so that we can share the cells and proteins we create, making the projects we do Open Source. This
helps the DIY Bio community immeasurably with education and innovation."



Which reminds me how this is the driver for a main target goal of a future kickstarter of mine to
make and deliver -80degC freezers in pint sizes for $800.

I'm working on other infrastructure for that future goal. The work today is for a rain proof electronics
enclosure system for field biologists, but the tools I use, (solvespace, openscad, blender, 3D printing,
and low pressure injection molding for non-shiny short runs of niche products in recycled plastic and later bioplastic),
are on the path to -80degC freezers among other things.
