Turn on moderation to avoid the spam

 Hi DIYbio London -

I noticed you're increasingly getting spammed.  Whoever is the admin of the Google Group, you should:

 Go into the group settings --> Access --> Scroll to bottom and checkmark "Messages from new members are moderated"

This will reduce/eliminate spam problem.
