Hello all-

Last IdeaLab we overviewed the flow of how to find and analyze a biosynthesis pathway using rose scent (geraniol) as an example.  I would love to discuss this pathway again in more detail as I really think it is something we should pursue for metabolic engineering. However, it would be great if someone from the group would be interested in leading a more in depth discussion on BioCyc/MetaCyc and the details of cloning of a gene from one organism to another (using the geraniol biosynthesis pathway as an example of course).  Let me know if you would like to take this on, and you can present it at a future meeting! Don't worry - if there aren't any takers, I will work through it :) But think it will be a great exercise for a future metabolic engineer!

This Saturday I would like to discuss the attached paper on gene expression.
