Hello folks!
Checking in to see if anyone had the chance to play around a little more with MetaCyc and wants to walk through a more in depth analysis of engineering E.coli to synthesize geraniol with the group next saturday.
Things to discuss:
* How to use Metacyc - explore some of the other functionalities on the site
* Go back through the rose scent/geraniol synthesis pathway - in more depth
* What organism should we use?
How isolate the DNA (plant genomic extraction)
* How we amplify the gene from another organisms' genome - primer design for grabbing the natural RBS
etc...
Let me know if you can take this on. I think it will be a great project to start! We need another googlegroup because we all aren't already part of too many - I say Metabolic Engineering :)
