Hello bio-afficionadas,
I'd like to invite you to the first of a monthly series of diybio-boston meetups. Each will feature a short talk by an interesting speaker, a show-n-tell section where everyone can demo their cool projects - be it hardware, software, wetware, art, writing, whatever - followed by time for social networking and refreshments.
The first diybio-boston meetup is scheduled for March 5th at 7:00pm at Sprout in Davis Square, where I've been putting together a public wetlab with help from many friendly local diybio folks. Here's the plan:
* Jeff Potter (
cookingforgeeks.com) is going to give a short talk about the crossover points between molecular gastronomy and garage biotechnology
* I'll demo some of the projects I've been working on lately (you should bring any cool biotechnology you feel like showing off!)
* We'll enjoy refreshments while networking and "touring" the wetlab
Additionally ,I'm putting together a diybio iGEM team and the first organizational meeting will occur at the end of the meetup. So if you want to join the team or have project ideas, please come.
Remember, if you have anything cool to demo, bring it.
Cheers!
Mac
p.s. if you are getting this message and you're not local to boston, just let me know.
