Hello all.  I've been tasked by people with more money and connections than I have to gauge interest in creating a maker space / hacker space / shared coop in Gloucester to foster seed stage companies in all fields of science and engineering.

The space would house equipment like a laser cutter, 3D printer, full wet-lab for the sciences, soldering stations, etc.

We're looking for feedback on what type of equipment would be useful and why.

We'd also be offering classes in things like circuit design, micro-controller programming, molecular biology, etc.  Basically, whatever experts we have on hand in the rented company spaces could generate revenue by teaching courses.  We'd also be open to any experts coming to teach classes.

These type of spaces have thrived in Boston, and we're trying to build something similar on the North Shore, but perhaps a little different, in the sense that we may end up being a blend of an accelerator and a maker space.  Things are still in the planning phase, but buildings have been selected as potential locations.

If you're at all interested, please respond with what it is you do, or would like to do in the space.  Would you be a party interested in renting a space, or would you be more interested in just attending classes?  Would you be interested in teaching a class and in what area?  Are there specific pieces of equipment you'd like access to ?

THANKS!  Even a simple, "I'd be interested in checking the space out" would help.  Trying to gauge the number of people interested as well as their demographics and backgrounds/interests, so to speak.
