Intro to Molecular Biology

Hi all. Bosslab will hold a free introduction to molecular biology class this Sunday at 3pm. This will be at Sprout by Davis Square in Somerville. It will cover some of the background needed to understand how genetic information is used to code for proteins. It will also cover some basic techniques that we use in the lab to apply these ideas. For those of you who have seen this talk before and are looking for more, at 4pm we will have a half-hour discussion about specific activities that we are thinking about undertaking in the coming months. These including making (taq) polymerase or RNA polymerase, generating DNA banding patterns from our own DNA, and what makes a transgenic plant. Feel free to RSVP here.
