HI, I'm a 3-year student on economics major, this year took
mathmethods course, found it somewhere meaningless, so I started to
learn by myself in library and internet.
what I'm expecting from that course is to know or to hear people's
ideas or experience on maths, how to study it alone/ especially I'm
interested in game theory.

P.S. sorry for my bad english =)

I linked to a couple of introductory books on game theory in this
thread:

Maybe those would be a good place to start.

As for "how to study math alone": I think the idea here is that it is
best if you're not completely alone, so, talk with others about your
difficulties and successes. That's what this mailing list is for.

I also introduced the idea of refactoring the *course* into a
set of four more focused tutorials, but I haven't yet heard what
others think of that idea.

strongly support that idea, but i think it wouldn't be effective. Too
many thoughts, topics/ and little number of people.

Actually I'm interested in learning about Game Theory too.
The site at http://www.gametheory.net seems to be a very well organized
collection of resources with links to a number of sets of course notes
at various levels (including the site organizer's own MBA level course
which is at
http://www2.owen.vanderbilt.edu/mike.shor/courses/game-theory/ ) I think
I'll start working through Shor's course and maybe a couple of the intro
level courses in parallel and see which I prefer as time goes on.

P.S. I've also created a Game Theory topic in the CMR site (as a
subtopic of 'Applications and Recreations') and put up a couple of these
items. Please feel free to add anything else you find useful.
