I have a Mac running OSX Yosemite 10.10.3 and Java 8 from Oracle.

When I attempt to open DIYLC 3.28.0 I get this message:

To open “DIYLC” you need to install the legacy Java SE 6 runtime.

Is there a quick workaround to solve this problem?
I can probably run DIYLC in a Linux Virtual Machine I have on the Mac, but it would be great to get DIYLC running on the latest OSX :)

Thanks,
Norv

Not sure why is that, I'm not acquainted with mac too much. Can you just install SE6? It can coexist with the 8.

Aha, thanks Bancika, that worked :)
After installing SE6 I just had to follow mattyb's suggestion to eliminate the "DIYLC is damaged" message:

System preferences > Security and Privacy > General > Allow apps downloaded from: Anywhere

and now I have DIYLC running on Mac Yosemite ( and also gschem and Inkscape at the same time :) )
Thanks again for the awesomeness of DIYLC!!!
