My son had been playing MC on the DIY server for several weeks now and really enjoys it.  Apart from a lot of griefing recently, it's been a great server.

In the last week or so we started having issues connecting.  The connection terminates during play and he is unable to log back on.   Sometimes it's several hours and other times a full day before he can get back on. There is nothing we do on our end to fix it, other than just waiting.
Have there been issues with access lately or is it just us?

Tech details
When we try to connect, we get "Pinging..." if we use 1.7.2 and "Can't Reach Sever" with 1.6.4.
In the past we have successfully joined using either 1.6.4 or 1.7.2 and switched between them with no issues.
Java version is current
Firewall is not blocking.  (same issue with all firewalls disabled)
No other errors.  Single player works fine.

Hello SecurtechLLC,

I believe these issues have to do with server side and don't have anything to do with your computer! Recently a new version of minecraft came out which caused alot of issues for the developmental team at craftbukkit which provides the jar files for the server. Because it has been over a month since the update has been released and a full release of a server jar file hasn't been provided, diy is currently now only providing the support for users to connect with 1.6.4 and 1.7.2! I believe that their current jar file is a development build which causes the server to crash rather often, alot has changed during the 1.7 update so most likely you will be seeing these crashes and issues until we can see a full stable release. Hope this helps!

Peace,

Rockymma

Rockymma - Thanks for your help!

Let me know if the problems persist, and we'll get to the bottom of it.
