So You guys are awesome!

I have been using DIY.org and the app as an eternal 9 year old for a few years now. and I'm really stoked on the future of DIY.

I don't have any kids but I do have a lot of friends with kids ( we get along better than the parents).

They are looking for "mentors" or adults like pack leaders to guide activities to help there kids focus and make more interesting projects with DIY.

1.

I have a feeling the best bet is to help start a club.

If there are any parents (in the brooklyn area) interested in working on a bi weekly young makers meet up in greenpoint brooklyn.

I have access to a space called alphaonelabs.com with all the tools and space we could need.

2.

Will there ever be a mentor mark similar to MOD or A, maybe MNT for professionals looking to inspire the next generation of creatives?

3.

How do you pick #nextlvl projects? Do you ever look for third party production companies make spec projects like the old sesame street animation segments where created?

Otherwise thanks for all the hard work its really looking good!

1. Thanks for the note! There is a pretty active gardening-based DIY club in your area called "Makers Unite". They went dormant for the winter, but you might want to reach out to them to see if they could be a good fit: https://www.facebook.com/MakersUniteNY Otherwise, let us know if you'd like to start something out of Alpha One Labs, we'd love to see more DIY Clubs operating out of hackerspaces!! :-)

2. Yes! We are actually working on educator / mentor accounts right now... this has been a long time in the making but I think we finally have something in development that will really help folks like yourself as well as educators in classroom settings.

3. We are pretty opportunistic about it... when we see something that feels like it could make for great media we will generally just jump on it. We've used some third party directors to create DIY TV segments for us, but for #nextlvl we've done everything in-house thus far.
