There is a bumper crop of 14 BIGILLA definitions to choose from. I came close to missing three of them 😒 that were sent to the wrong address. I’m still not 100% confident that nothing fell in the cracks.

Please choose exactly two, which you should do by Wednesday 15 April at 22h15 CEST (countdown timer here: ⏱️), or 48 hours from time of posting. Early closing will apply as usual.

1

The complete yearly set of readings for Jewish Festivals [Megilla is the scroll read for Purim consisting of the book of Ruth; this word is a modern collective noun to cover all the scrolls required for all the festivals]

2

A double tally or reckoning entered under a single account, especially one later found to have been made in error.

3

Australian. An edible Australian wood-boring grub (Bardistus cibarius) or its larvæ.

4

The embryonic leaves in the seeds of all dicotyledons.

5

A flowering shrub, Brickellia multiflora, of Central America.

6

Any long, boring story.

7

Messenger, page, servant [fm Old Norse].

8

A migraine or severe headache [pidgin].

9

Sc. Milled barley, also called: bigg.

10

A plant structure formed of stipules fused into a sheath surrounding the stem.

11

A short, narrow chisel used for carving fine detail in soft wood.

12

A site of multiple shipwrecks.

13

A traditional Maltese dish of mashed broad beans, olive oil, garlic, and red pepper, typically served as a dip or spread.

14

A tree-filled courtyard.

Hi Paul,

I will waste my two votes on 3 and 5, the edible grub and the flowering shrub.

Cheers,
Hugo

I'll take two that relate to my recent audiobook experiences: 6 (yeah, that one) and 12 (a relevant plot point of something more interesting)
