The buzzer beating vote from Nancy turned out to be decisive. With a natural 5 points, Dan is the winner of round 3610! He edges out Mike's unnatural 5 and can take responsibility for the first deal of the new year :)

Chittack is an Indian unit of weight (guessed correctly by Johnny, Paul, and Mike). There were a few weight-equivalent definitions I found: one-sixteenth of a seer, 900 grains, five siccas, one ounce, 17 pennyweights, 12 grains troy. I just picked Merriam-Webster's listing arbitrarily. The word also has a few alternative spellings: CHITTAK, CHATTAK, CHATTACK.

I did try out Paul's word similarity checker, getting hits with similar South Asian origins like CHITAL and CHETTY. A few players this round caught on to this origin with their submitted definitions.

Debbie and Tim B.'s hut-related definitions could have been merged, but I chose to keep them separate because: 1) the distinction between the building and the construction material, 2) there were already a couple other pairs of somewhat related definitions so I thought the strategy of voting for or avoiding pairs would be diluted enough (e.g., monkeys, the true definition and Dan's tally marks/tokens).

Thanks a lot, Nancy! 😆

I've spent much of today playing around with Paul's scores dataset combined with the used words list to identify optimal types of words to deal.  New word shortly.  Pun very much intended.
