The outcome of Round 3571 is not in doubt (leading scores are 7* and 3, with one expected vote outstanding at the deadline), and so I am anticipating Efrem’s announcement of the results to avoid clashing commitments and resulting knock-on delays.

From Round 3570 it appears that I should avoid proposing current expressions, like the main ou, that my family members actually use, because they are not as obscure as I think they are. I now dimly remember a note to self on that subject, from 2 or 3 years back. 

So now, for something completely different, the new round’s word is

OSARI

and it is not normally capitalized in running text. 

Please let me have your proposals for a definition of this word (the only restriction being that they not betray knowledge of what it actually means), by the deadline on Tuesday 19 August at 16h30 CEST, and for which you will find a countdown timer here: ⏱️. That is a little over 46 hours from time of posting. Consider using this email link: defin...@boargules.com, in preference to pressing the Reply button. Paul is absolutely right that his lead is unassailable and that he will be the next dealer, so he might as well get on with it as he has done. However, I'll wait until the two (not one*) submitters who haven't yet voted do so, or the deadline, whichever comes first, before posting the results. (Since one of those two is Shani Naylor and it's 3:50 am in New Zealand right now, that may be a while.)

My apologies to the two players who have not yet had a chance to consider their votes. It was an error of timezone arithmetic. I was convinced that the deadline was already two hours in the past. I even re-checked it three times, because I know I make those errors.
