Folks,

The word for Round 2931 is:

*********************
SEIF
*********************

where, as usual, capitalization means nothing.

Please send your invented definitions of SEIF by private email to emallach at verizon dot net in the next 47 1/2 or so hours; that is, by 9 pm US EDT on Wed., Oct. 17. If  you know what it means, please let me know ASAP by private message. If enough people know it, I'll pick another  - hopefully in time to keep the same schedule. Either way, don't hit Reply or Reply All. Either will send your message to the whole group.

According to timeanddate.com, the deadline is:

and other times in other places. You might want to confirm your time conversion. That site's good, but nobody's perfect, and we're approaching the season in which countries go on or off summer time on various dates.

I expect votes to be due 42 hours after that, at 3 pm Friday in the eastern U.S.

New players are welcome. (So are old ones who've been quiet for a while. Come back to the fold.) Just send in a definition that you invented without looking up what the word really means. Full rules at  http://www.dixonary.net/game-rules-and-advice/rules.

SEIF: a theological teaching held by the Saducees and condemned by Jesus as ignorance of he bible

Folks,

I have two DQs for SEIF, one from John Barrs that you probably know about and another from someone else. That by itself is borderline; I'd keep the word if no more show up. However, I'm concerned that the inadvertent disclosure of the source from which one person knows the meaning of the word, Frank Herbert's book Dune, is too much of a clue to its true meaning: "a sand dune in the form of a long, narrow ridge." Therefore, I've decided to err on the side of caution and deal a new word.

The word for Round 2931 is now:

*********************
ANLAGE
*********************

where, as usual, capitalization means nothing.

Please send your invented definitions of ANLAGE by private email to emallach at verizon dot net on the original schedule; that is, 34 hours from now, by 9 pm US EDT on Wed., Oct. 17. If  you know what it means, please let me know ASAP by private message. If enough people know it, I'll pick another and move the deadline out. Either way, don't hit Reply or Reply All. Either will send your message to the whole group.

If I don't hear from any of the people who submitted definitions for SEIF (Barrs, Bourne, Cunningham, Embler, Hale, Madnick, Naylor, and Widdis) I'll use the definitions they sent earlier.

According to timeanddate.com, the deadline is:

and other times in other places. You might want to confirm your time conversion. That site's good, but nobody's perfect, and we're approaching the season in which countries go on or off summer time on various dates.

I still expect votes to be due 42 hours after that, at 3 pm Friday in the eastern U.S.
