Hi Dixonians,

Sorry for the delay posting a word. I was out all day and cannot post in this group from my phone. (In that regard, does anybody know why or what I am doing wrong? Android.)

The new word for your defining pleasure is BESAIEL, a recent discovery of mine. Capitalization irrelevant. If you know the word, of course, please send your DQs as soon as possible. If you don't know it, send a def, please.

Deadline for your fanciful definitions is 1pm CST (7pm GMT) on Monday. Please send them to my nancyshepherdson at hotmail address if you can.

Looking forward to them.

P.S. I also need an updated version of WORDS ABC but can't find it. Where is it?

https://sites.google.com/dixonary.net/dixonarydocs is the direct URL of the website, and where www.dixonary.net eventually forwards to, but the forwarding sometimes seems flaky.  From that menu you can see a link for the Used Words List page, which you may want to bookmark: https://sites.google.com/dixonary.net/dixonarydocs/old-game-archive/used-word-list

The spreadsheet can be a bit more useful with search functionality for used words.

If you prefer the text file, I have automation set up to regenerate the text file weekly from the spreadsheet.

Try Googling for dixonary used words list. For me it's the second hit.

I found it by clicking the link for the website on this group. Thanks.

Any ideas on how I can post to this group from my phone? (Android)

Log in to the google group.  You should be able to post directly to the group from there.

It’s not obvious how to do it. On the small-screen version of the Google Groups website, you can read messages but not reply to them. It has no New Conversation button. But there is a workaround.
  1. In your browser go to https://groups.google.com/g/dixonary
  2. Open the browser settings menu. Click the  icon, top right (not the website hamburger button, top left, next to “Groups” ).
  3. Look for the Desktop site checkbox. It’s close to the bottom so you will probably have to scroll down to it.

  4. Check that. Everything will be suddenly tiny.
  5. Then, click the website hamburger button, top left, next to “Groups”. On the menu you get, you may just be able to see New Conversation. It’s the first item on the menu. Click it to get a pop-up editor window.
On my phone, I find it easier to compose the post in the Google Docs app and then paste it into the  Groups editor window. You are probably already aware that the website editor is a stripped-down affair that does not know about tables. Even on a big screen, for me that rules it out when running a round.

The Desktop site checkbox stays checked for that site until you uncheck it again.

I don’t know if this will be much help, but I also don’t know of a better way.
