Hi all!
My apologies for the issues with my mail host. I really hope that I
now have received all your mails.
We have a collection of eleven fine definitions, all of them
credible, yet not all correct. In fact, only one of these is from
the dictionary. Your task (if you are not DQ) is to identify which.
And you get two guesses for this.
Since I am out tomorrow evening, I had to choose between a short-ish
or a long-ish deadline. I picked the latter, so you have over 31
hours to pick your favorites -

1 a smokeless tobacco product placed under the upper lip.
2 a low and marshy or frequently flooded area of land.
3 a very early version of a hoop-skirt.
4 a traditional Alpine herding song.
5 a dormant bud casing that forms in late autumn, protecting
certain perennials from frost damage until spring.
6 an act or dance by medieval jesters to distract grumpy
monarchs.
7 a chant of support or encouragement at bullfights in southwest
France.
8 (in the Middle Ages) a robe or long tunic, belted or with a
fitted bodice, usually having full trailing sleeves and often
trimmed or lined with fur.
9 a dance of Dutch origin, popular in northern England during the
18th and early 19th centuries.
10 a thick, wheat noodle, traditionally eaten with a cream sauce.
11 traditional Polish Christmas cookies whose primary ingredients
are butter, flour, powdered sugar, and walnuts.
Good luck!
Hugo
