 *** BEGLERBEG ***

1 A left-handed burglar.

2 Casually; as a passing thought.

3 A charm made from knotted cord.

4 A request for something undeserved.

5 A narrow reed flute used in folk dances.

6 A provincial governor in the Ottoman empire.

7 A daft, merry bit of nonsense — pure tomfoolery.

8 A vice captain or acting captain of Janissaries.

9 Scot. Little by little [ < Sc. Gaelic beag air bheag]

10 A decree issued in duplicate under separate authorities.

11 Deep-fried Filipino egg rolls, which are typically filled with ground pork, minced carrots, onions, garlic, and spices.

12 Used by Jeeves (a fictional character created by P.G. Wodehouse) to describe a lower-class butler who steals from his employer

13 A highly specialized, semi-retired breed of herding dog native to the Scottish Highlands, larger than a border collie and with thicker fur.

"Beglerbeg" rhymes with "egg." Eggs are sold by the half dozen and dozen. So, 6 and 12.

I have to concur that it sounds like an official title of some obscure kind, so 6 and 8:

I will join the crowd voting 6 & 8 & give someone (or maybe two people) a nice score.
