Everyone who submitted a definition has voted so I am closing early

The word I chose can have several meanings but only Paul voted for the one I played giving me a D1.  (#12  A packing ring (as of rubber for a fruit jar) - I always wanted a word for this item)

Entirely by coincidence, the Viking Rhine cruise I'm on at the moment served bienenstich after dinner last night - less than 48 hours after I submitted that fake def. Their version had less pastry and more vanilla cream than most of the online examples I found, but it wasn't bad!
